Interlibrary Loan

The Gordon City Library is a part of the OCLC Worldshare program. We can request materials through Worldshare which are then filled by other participating libraries and passed along to you, the patron, via our library. We can also request materials from other members of our Pandhandle Library Consortium.

Please note that there is a charge of $3.50 with each Interlibrary Loan which must be paid at the time the request is placed. This fee pays for searching the database which is done locally. This fee is the only charge the patron must pay as the library has assumed postage costs; however, the fee is non-refundable whether or not the item is received.

We will make every effort to obtain the materials requested. Titles generally must be at least 6 months old for other libraries to agree to lend them, but that can vary slightly depending on the lending institution.  Checkouts are generally for 2 weeks, but once again that varies depending on the lending library’s policies. Patrons are invited to come into the library and fill out a request form.
